Go MAD Giveaway

Andy Gilbert, Group Managing Director of Go MAD Thinking, entered the Poker Face TV quiz show to demonstrate the power of the Go MAD Thinking System. From over 10,000 people he successfully made the final three. Now he has decided to make a difference and give away his £65,000 prize winnings to help 1,000 people with £65 each.

However, you cannot ask for money to help yourself or support other charity fundraising, religious or political activities. This blog is about challenging you to use your thinking skills to make a positive difference, preferably sustainable, and help others to "Pay It Forward". What difference could you make? Please post your requests and comments.

More Random Acts of Kindness

I completed my adventure this week with a variety of small fun giveaway activities during a couple of business trips to London. My favourites included paying for 2 chocolate bears in and then watching from a distance as the shop assistant gave them to the next 2 visitors as a present from a stranger, and also buying some fruit for a busker. Great fun watching people's reaction.

Whilst facilitating a career development conference for a major bank last week, I gave £65 to 4 of the delegates to help others with their career development and I hope that they will publish their actions to inspire people with more ways to help others make a difference.

Keep making a difference and let me know if you would like to go on your own Random Acts of Kindness seven day adventure.

Andy -

Wow - How inspiring ! I've been sat at my desk all afternoon wondering where I would start If I was lucky enough to be considered for your £65.00 giveaway. And here's what I have in mind.

I run a local Ranger Girl Guide Unit for Girls aged 14plus. Such an influential time of their lives. I would absolutely love to pass £6.50 to each of the 10 girls in my unit and inspire them to pass it on to 'do a good turn' with it.

What do you think ?

They would have an enoumous amount of fun, it would be a great challenge and give them a real sense of achievement on completion.

Thanks for the opportunity!

Claire,

This sounds great. Let's involve others. E-mail me your name and address and I will send you £65. Then please post up a summary of the "good turns" they do.

Hello Andy. I would like to say hello and well done on being a top fella. Good work.
I would like £65 for the following reason. My Grandfather (who was Scottish) died due to Alzeheimers. I would like to use the £65 towards a train ticket to Scotland. Once there I plan to walk across it, if I can get the support etc and raise money and awareness of this horrific condition. The £65 would be a great start for me.
What do you think?
Thanks

This is a brilliant project i have come across during my time working for Inspire Nottingham a charity helping adults with learning disabilities within out community.

I was watching a local football match involving a local team when a player was injured, the team did not have a first aid kit and the player was in a lot of discomfort, i would like to request £65 to provide the team from my community with a first aid kit.

Hi Michael,
Whilst I will not send you £65 (as the money has to be for others and not in support of charitable fundraising)I encourage you to achieve your goal.

Email me your address and I will send you one of my books which should help you to get the support and make the difference you are seeking to achieve.

Best wishes

Andy

£65 pounds successfully distributed. My friend has recently decided to give up work in the UK and emigrate to Cyprus so that his wife can get the treatment she needs for Multiple Sclerosis.

Unfortunately he didn’t get the job he wanted first time round so he’s now going to have to go out there for another interview this month. The £65 will either go towards the cost of the flight out there or Greek lessons.

I can’t believe it’s so difficult to give away money - you should have seen the reaction - which started with absolute refusal to take it and the suggestion Id lost my marbles. It was only later that they reluctantly accepted once I showed them the compliments slip from yourself proving it was not a bad prank.

I was given £65 to go on an adventure whilst on holiday in Cornwall last week. My husband and I had great fun suprising people. We paid for a family to have a cornish pastie lunch, bought a couple their fish & chip supper, paid for a family to go into Pendennis castle and a couple to go in the Lost Gardens of Heligan. In total we made a difference to 14 people. It became so addictive, making people smile, we have decided to commit to spending £10 per month of our own money to carry this on.
